View Full Version : 5 Months Okay?

Hi,

My boyfriend slept around a lot before me. He last had unprotected sex at the end of October 2006. He was tested for HIV mid-January 2007 and was negative and now again in early April 2007 and was negative. We have never had sex without a condom. My question is: it has been just over 5 months since his last time of unprotected sex and he wants to remove the condom. Is it okay at this point b/c if he had HIV would it definitely show up by now? I have heard it can take up to 6 months in some cases so should I require him to get tested again in a month or two to be sure or is five months enough time for a regular healthy 25 year old man? If 5 months and negative is okay then I would be up for removing the condom with sex. Is there any possibility that someone can have HIV for 5 months and it show up negative twice? Thank you!!!

he is negative as sure as you can be,
unless he has put himself at risk again since then.

He might be negative from those past experiences, but if he had unprotected sex 6 moths ago he might do it again. The best thing to do is to keep on using protection.
