Hello everyone. I'm new to the site. So how does this work - like AA meetings? :D "Hello my name is Jaydub and I have genital herpes." :D :D
I actually self diagnosed myself and have yet to go to a doctor about the disease. My first outbreak occurred sometime in 2004 or 05. At first I thought the blisters were caused by excessive friction since I play sports so I really didn't focus on when exactly the first outbreak happened. By the 3rd outbreak I was online reading up on what exactly I was dealing with. I came across a site with pictures and I'll be damned that looks exactly like what I've got. Seems like every 4 - 6 months I get the prewarning tingling sensation in the leg followed by blisters on the head of my penis that stick around for 2 - 3 weeks.

The thing is I'm married and my wife has never shown any symptoms of the disease. I'm anonymous on this site so I have no reason to lie when I tell you that I did not cheat on her. I've been having sex with the same woman since 2000. If the disease shows symptoms 2 - 20 days after making contact and my first outbreak was in 04-05, then this would almost certainly mean that I got it from my wife UNLESS the disease stayed dormant in my spinal cord since 2000 when I caught it from a chick I used a condom with??? I did use a public toilet at a "Jack in the Box" where a few homeless folks called home back in 04 0r 05 but I read somewhere that the disease cant' survive for more than a minute outside of a host. As of now my wife and I believe I caught it from the inside of a toilet bowl.

Anyone have any logical thoughts on how I could have gotten this disease.

Thanks for any responses.

Hi Jaydub, first off your wife needs to be tested cause she could be a carrier and not know it. This happened to me, my husband had it and didn't know it. How would you get it from the inside of a toilet seat? Did you go on a toilet seat that hadn't been flushed? I hope you get some answers. :)

Well as you know us guys have equipment that can hang and actually touch the water if long enough and also the head can accidentally touch the inside of the bowl where a previous "Herpes infected" penis may have touched the same area. I would never use a toilet that wasn't flushed. I'm not sure exactly how long the Herpes virus can live on a moist surface like inside a toilet bowl. Do you know??

trust me
you didnt get it from a toilet seat. the only theory thast supports any type of w/out person contact is in saunas and spa's and bathhouses.

they are trying to link that connection, so the deal is your wife could have been the carrier this whole time you do not know unless you test her.
you also could have had this since you lost your virginity.
herpes means to "creep"

but what it does do is sleep, and shows up when your immune system is down

so test her and go on from there thats my opinion

but flush the toilet idea literally...
