I hit a post yesterday and can't find it now. It was very interesting and I'm wanting to hear more about this topic.

I get headaches that come a few times a year. When I try to get out of bed I can't cause I'm so dizzy I will fall. The only thing that seems to save me is salt and water. It takes a few hours to feel better and get out of that state. I have been taking salt and water for years. My grandmother had addisons disease and she use to do it. I never knew why. It wasn't till years later did I find out that is what kept her alive.
I put some in my hand and lick it and drink my bottled water. Funny after years of it you just know when your feeling good and when you need more salt.........I want to know if this is something I might be dealing with is low sodium? Do any of you with addisons recall ever having these symptoms?

Thats what I have been doing for years. I don't drink water after i eat the salt. (when maybe when I am done) I almost "enjoy' eatting salt. Many people have told me how bad it is. That I shouldn't do it. But i would,and still do, "crave" salt. I also get headaches. However, I do not get to the point where I passout.

I had a sore throat at work today and I was getting dizzy, it was slowly coming on. I knew I was in trouble is what I call it. If I get to dizzy I will fall and not be able to stand up on my own. I walked to the food court to grab my life line of a salt pouch as I always do when this feeling comes over me. I put some in my hand and licked it. Went back to my till and drank my bottled water. I felt like I was going to black out. Within 15 minutes I was feeling better, including my sore throat. This is the story of my life..........this is how I live. Sometimes months will go by and nothing then bag It hits me right between the eyes. I have had a sore throat for a week now. AND No I wasn't anxious, If any one is thinking that.... I was working and to busy for that on a Friday!! LOL

L C Lady no it is not good at all to do what I am doing. I am only doing it cause it revives me. I always take water with it. NEVER ALONE! Everytime I'm flat on my back its the salt, water and a little sugar that gets me up on my feet again. Salt and water are my life lines............................

I was at a different sight where I saw the sodium headaches I guess. These are not your normal forehead headaches. Its all in the back of the neck and base of the skull. OUCH!

Have you been tested for Addisons? It does sound like you should at least get all this looked into! Addisons does tend to be familial, and since you mentioned that your gradnmother had it, you really should get it checked!
