Hello, I'm new on here and I just found out that my son is latose intolorance and allergic to RED DYE he can't eat any thing that contains red dye and he is lactose intolorance. Basicly I read alot of stuff about the red dye and thats basicly every thing we normally eat but some things I can live with like organic foods and all natural foods but by him being lactose thats even harder to try to keep a house full of food, I have four boys and a husband and noone else has this problem, should I just start making everyone in my house hold start eating healthy? Not saying thats a bad thing but YOU KNOW every thing you eat is not for the best of your health! Any one have any suggestions? Thanks:) :wave:also I replied to the thread on red dye alergies so if you want more of this storyyou can get a full understanding on whats wrong with my son to help me more!

Look into the soysilk milk substitute products and just check all your labels on your commonly used foods at home.. make a sheet of what is acceptable to eat and what is not. My husband, son, and I have extensive food allergies, it is hard to find a common cross section that we can eat together. Oft times I have to cook almost two separate meals. You will get the hang of it.

thank you for that info, basicly I'm gonna have to cook two meals a day because he can't eat every thing we eat, plus I started buying the juicesthat he can drink like welches grape juice that has nothing added to it and other things and I stopped the red juice and the koolaide and all of the unhealthy juices now i have to start on the food!

IM also lactose intolerant but kids tend to get it worst:(
I would buy a cookbook on lactose intolerant for kids:) its so hard to prepare food without having an allergy to contend with.
soymilk or lactose milk
dairy free ice cream products
soy cheese
there are alot of lactose free products:) im lucky my biggest issue is dairy like icecream but milk in products is ok; but the red dye u mention is in alot of processed foods-stick with fruits/veggies/meats/grains-should be ok; i would offer this for everyone in the family but u can still make a milk based meal for your other family members.
the fruit aisle has really yummy juice all natural thats veggies/fruit combo:)
