View Full Version : Supplements & Acne

I'm currently taking Protein as a supplement to assist in weight training for size & strength. However, I am interested in using some other supplements. Does anyone know of any other supplements that have NO connections to acne or oily skin? Because I've spent thousands of dollars to clear up my acne, and don't want anything to possibly trigger a repeat. What about Glutamine?

Thanks.

the only things that come to mind that you should stay away from are prohormones.

Andrew,

Alot of protien powders have Lactose in it. A big factor in acne for people who break out from certain foods. Be cautious of that!

Andrew,

I too spent a lot of money on clearing up acne and have been very careful when selecting supplements. Through my experience, Protein is fine, I have been using it for years without problems. I also took creatine for a while without any problems. I just started taking L-Glutamine and from I have found out about it is that it is a natural occuring Amino Acid the body produces to aid in nitrogen transport to muscle tissue. It has nothing to do with affecting your hormones - which is the thing to look for. I 100% agree with the previous post about avoiding prohormones!

Good Luck

I take the GNC Isolated Soy Protein 95. It uses Soy protien instead of Whey. Whey is made from milk and dairy.

I think when i mix this with Skim milk it gives me like a zit or two.

I dunno if its working or not..

BUT DUDE IT TASTE SO GOOD. Its like a malt, i like drinking it. Like i mix it then bam i drink it all together its yummy. Right now i have like a zit under my chin, two little zits that are red on my upper lip and a zip by my eyebrow.
