 My sister was diagnosed last year with inflammatory breast cancer. After a year of chemo, surgery and radiation treatments, the cancer mutated to her lungs, liver, lymph nodes...and now we understand it is also in her bone marrow and several other places. Up until this past weekend, she was receiving whole blood and/or platelet tranfusions almost every other day. The doctor has sent her home, and even though her platelet count was 8 yesterday, they are no longer giving her transfusions. She is extremely weak and is now in a lot of pain. She has signed the DNR and completed her Living Will although she refuses to accept the fact that she is dying. My wish would be to have the rest of the family here (they live out of state) for her last moments but we have no indication on how much time she may have left. Since she does not accept the signs, she has refused to ask her doctor the life expectancy questions. Has anyone seen these signs with their loved ones?
