It has been almost 2 months since my tonsillectomy (Feb 20th)

I'm still feeling my throat is somewhat sore at times and gets dry very easily, also it gets somewhat sticky after speaking for more than 10 minutes.

Are these normal symptoms that go away after lets say the 3rd month ? I did have some sort of viral infection right after (Mar 20th), but I these symptoms still persist . . .

How long did the light soreness and somewhat sticky throat remain for ?

(These are mild symptoms but do get on the annoying side)

Please share how long it took for your throat to feel completely normal, and the tonsillectomy to just be an after thought . . .

I had my surgery on March 2 and I still have a scratchy throat and thick phlegm at times. I sometimes feel a "lump" in my throat that never competely goes away. But, like you, these are annoyances and not real pain. I saw my doctor about it and she recommended I take Mucinex for the phlegm. I don't think that really did anything so I quit taking it. As for the lumpy feeling, she said my lingual tonsils are swollen and if antibiotcs don't take the swelling down, I could consider having them "shaved".

Yuck. No thanks

Hello! Just a week ago i got rid of that "lump". I had lingual tonsillectomy. Yes it hurts but I take my pain killer (lortab)and it was worth it! I feel so much better and i got rid from the stinky smell of the swallen lingual tonsills.

I also had a tonsillectomy 2 months ago and have a constantly dry throat. I try drinking lots of water and have to carry hard candies/mints with me everywhere I go. I also use my humidifier when I sleep. Would love to know when this will resolve...
