My 12 year son has had Addison's Disease since he was 3 years old. He is very active and has had very few problems. My question is about puberty. Does anyone know if he will go into puberty normal with no problems? His Endo says he is a little late but she is not concerned. But as a mother I am a little concerned. Also, how about having children? Thanks, any information or experinces will be helpful.

DHEA is known to increase a few years before puberty starts. Assuming he is taking hydrocortisone, he also will not make any DHEA. Perhaps this hormone needs to be slowly added.
