I am sorry that the ugly witch showed her face. Try to think positive for the new cycle which you have just started.

The day af starts is CD 1 . The day of ovulation varies for each individual. For me its cd 14 or cd 15. However for someone else it may be cd 20. You ll need to take your BBT or use OPK s to determine this.
What i think you are referring to are days post ovulation which are referred to as DPO.
For example is i ovulate on cd 15 , cd 17 would correspond to 2dpo.
Ideally you should read the book Taking charge of your fertility to give you a better insight.
Feel free to ask any questions

Hey Tweety - Sorry af arrived. That is very disappointing when it happens, but we must remember that things work out the way they do for a reason, even if we don't understand why. We can't see the 'big picture' and the One who does is who is in control. Just keep your head up.

I am unsure if I actually understand what you are asking. CD 1 is the first day of normal af (not spotting). Like Amy said, Ovulation varies from person to person, it depends on how long your cycle is. The time between ovulation and the start of your next cycle is known as your luteal phase. Once you determine what this is, it stays consistent, meaning that the time from CD 1 and ovulation can vary from month to month, but your luteal phase will generally stay the same. The 'normal' range for a luteal phase is 12-16 days. For Example, through bbt, I know that my luteal phase is 13 days. Last month I O'd on CD 18 and my cycle was 31 days. Since being off bc, I have had cycles that vary anywhere from 30-40 days. By taking my bbt I know exactly when I will start af, once I have detected ovulation.

I hope this hasn't confused you at all. Like Amy suggested, the best and most valuable thing you can do is read the book ' Taking Charge of Your Fertility'. It will benefit you very much in your journey (since ***** is obviously a bad word) to get pregnant.

And Amen hopfullone! I hope we ring in the new year with all of the January babies!
