Walking up a flight of stairs is very daunting to me. It can be a struggle. In fact that was one of the first asthma symptoms I experienced before being diagnosed.
Any of you have a smiliar problem? Any tips?

Hi
I can relate to that because I have experienced the same difficulty when walking up the stairs. What I do is take it very slow and even rest half way if I am really short of breath. I try to limit the amount of time I go up the stairs and another thing that you may want to do is take a puff of salbutamol or whatever inhaler your dr has given you. I know it's tough so I hope these ideas help.
Good luck.

After walking up a flight of stairs and being out of breath, dizzy, and feeling like passing out, I knew there had to be something more wrong with me than being "out of shape." I enjoy exercise and am not overweight, so it seemed puzzling to me that I began avoiding staircases and would search for the nearest elevator.
Anyway, after dealing with wheezing and difficulty breathing I was diagnosed with asthma - today! So I'm happy (kind of...).
Sorry, I don't have any tips for you. Just wanted you to know, you're not alone with those awful stairs!

Thank you Innerstrength!
It is always of some comfort to know that one is not alone. But would that there were a larger arsenal of weapons against asthma. Of all the available preventatives it seems that it all comes down to Albuterol the fastest and most effective relief.
Yeah -- still avoiding stairs wherever possible!!
