My b/f was eating last week and he complained of a sore throat. Next thing his throat on one side swelled up like a ball. We went to doctor on call thinking his food was stuck. It turned out the doc said he thinks its a calcium stone in his saliva gland that has lead to infection. He was given antibiotics and gradually the swelling reduced. Now however its swollen again.
Has anyone had this before?

hi! I was just curious if you had any luck in finding out how to treat your boyfriends swollen gland. I have had the same thing on the right side underneath my jaw and I have had no luck getting rid of the swelling and it is starting to become a little painful. I am going to see an ENT soon, and if I am given any treatment or information I will let you know if you need.

If the stone is not too big, I have had success by squirting pure lemon juice into my mouth. The sudden gush of saliva can wash it away. In the end, tho, I went to have it treated, and guess what! Ultra concentrated lemon juice-type stuff squirted into my cheek. EEEEUUUUWWWWW!!!!! Got rid of it tho.
