I have just been diagnosed with addison's but am still sick. Needed to go to the ER for a hydrocortisone shot after vomiting and diarrhea. How can I tell if I have the flu or if there is another problem.
Any help would be great. I am just miserable everyday.

I can tell you that it takes a long time to feel better. I was diagnosed with secondary addisons in November and I am just now feeling better. My best advice is to see if your dosage of cortef and florinef are right. I also learned on this board that sometimes cortef does not agree with people and the generic is better for some people. I also found out that even if you are tired, exercise is the key. I am a new person now.
I have been good for about 6 weeks now and that was after 3 months of hardly feeling like doing anything, and some days I could not even get up out of bed. I also had thyroid cancer on top of everything else.

3 weeks ago I caught the stomach virus from my son, and I too could not take the medicine and ended up in the er. It took me almost 2 weeks to get back all the way to feeling great again. I increased my cortef five milligrams for three days and it helped. The first day I increased 10. My doctor is really good about helping me with that.

I really hope you feel better soon, make sure you have a competant doctor who will listen to you and let them know you are not well.
