hi all i was first put on effexor xr 75 mg may 2006 took them for 9 mos then went on zoloft 50 mg cause i thought the effexor was causing my trouble which turned out to be my thyriolds then dr put me on celexa 20 mg they were too strong made my aneity worse so i cut them in half i had no refills i do have 5 refills of zoloft 50 mgs can anyone on the boards tell me how to ween off the ssri ? cause the celexa i dont have any refills but i do have 5 refills of zoloft i want to taper off if this is whats causing my dizziness all the drs have checked me out and say im fine except i do have thyriold disorder i was on synthyrold but i had to switch back to levothyroxine cause i couldnt handle the synthyrold ,now with celexa i was seeing a psychiatrist and when i told them i couldnt handle the celexa they told me to find another dr .so does anyone know if the dizziness is from stopping celexa i did what the drug store told me took a pill for 2 weeks then every other day for 2 weeks i did that but i still have the dizziness should i try doing this with the zoloft or do you think it may be something else causing the dizziness? if anyone has any advice please tell me as this dizziness is making me feel bad i do see a internal medicine dr next week about my thyriolds you think i should ask him to help ween me off or can someone tell me cause last time i ask a dr to ween me off they said i had to ask the dr who put me on them which was the psychiatrist and he refused to help me so how would i ween off if it were you .

When you started to wean off Celexa what mg were you taking?

You never got another doctor?

you should report that psychiatrist to your state medical board. there is no way he should have left you hanging. you need a few days between one ssri and another. the dizziness may not even be from the ssri. see a dr as soon as possible. God bless:angel:

yes i have another dr and they are telling me the dizziness isnt from that ,i did try to report him but i have no ideal how i called where he works and the staff hangs up on me and i have called many drs about weening off and i called the drugstore my mg is 10 it was 20 but i couldnt handle the 20 i do have 50 mg of zoloft 5 refills i did what the drugstore told me to do and i do think this is from the celexa its been awhole in between ssri so would you take zoloft everyday for how long then how long do you take every other day then i can cut them in half makle the 25mg then take those for how long ? then after that how do i do it? but it is from the celexa he never gave me a refill or nothing ,or should i wait and see my dr next week and ask him about weening off anti depressents ?how would i go about reporting this dr who stopped me cold turkey without even telling me how to ween off ?
