View Full Version : Can Menieres Disease cause really bad headaches?

I am having excruciating headaches, pressure in head, extreme lightheadedness. Some ringing in ears, not much though. Also when I lay on my side, or turn my head it feels like fluid is running out. My doctor says I have no fluid in my ears though, and I never see any fluid. I have had all kinds of tests, including Brain MRI, Brain angiogram, spinal tap, bloodtests, etc. Noone knows what this is. The lightheadedness/off balance feeling is the worst part of it. It's not vertigo though. Can Menieres Disease cause any of this? I'm grasping right now trying to figure out what it could be. I can not drive anymore, and I'm only 36. I have 3 kids, and can't even go shopping with them or to any of their school functions, etc. due to the lightheadedness. My doctor says he thinks it's a migraine variant causing some of this, and we are trying different kinds of meds. It's been going on for 14 months now, and is driving me crazy. Any thoughts on this would greatly be appreciated.

Your doc could be right about the Migraine. Its called MAV, migraine associated vertigo. Even if you dont get vertigo and have dizziness you can still have Mav...check out the INNER EAR BOARD....there are people on there that have MAV, with the right drug, your symptoms will be eliminated, but its trial and error. Check out that board, I think it will help you out more.
