Hi

I don t think that a few kilos extra would affect your fertility as long as you re not obese i think it s ok. But hey i am no expert.
How long have you been TTC,. Do you record your BBT?

Good luck

thanks for the info.:) i have been ttc since i got married in december. i have to admit that we haven't been thorough in our efforts. no i dont chart either.
i was hoping for it to just happen. i am only 22 so am not in a real hurry but we were hoping to get BFP by the end of the year.

Do you chart and find it helpful? it might be something worth trying. any hints on when the best time for taking my temp would be during the day or about what is the best type of thermometer to use.

thanks Amy good luck to you.

Lyndsay:

haha You and I are basically the same person! hehe

I haven't charted either. But I explained why on the other thread. We were hoping it would just happen. But nope...we're starting to figure it out.

But there is one thing I can tell you for sure on taking your temperature. You HAVE to take your basil body temperature first thing in the morning at the same time every morning. You take it before you get out of bed, before you eat or drink or smoke or move around. You should basically be "half awake," that's how soon you should take it. The moment you wake up, you roll over, grab your thermometer and you take your temp. There are specific basil body thermometers. They give you a digital readout that's more accurate than a regular termometer.

I've looked up the thermometers, and it looks like you can get them online for like $12. I don't know if you can find them in regular stores, I haven't looked while out and about.

Hope that helps!

Weight doesn't ALWAYS make a big deal to ovulation and conception. Some women are still clockwork regardless of how they weigh.

It's just one of those things that you should consider. Being within a reasonable BMI just ups your chances. Kind of like keeping your legs elevated after BD to keep the sperm flowing the right way...women get pregnant all the time who just get up right after BD and walk around. It's just supposed to up your chances is all.

It's all a percentage game.

Hey Kate it does sound like were very similar, good to know im not alone. thanks for that info i will get onto the charting asap. Let me know how your getting along.

Hope your all having a fantastic month of TTC, i read the best post the other day, it went something like this:

"if you get a BFN, take your husband/partner to bed and make love to them, because they are often forgotten in this game. It is so important to make them feel loved for themselves and not what they offer biologically"

I thought that was lovely and really made me appreciate what a wonderful and loving husband i have. thanks for all of you help and kind words. :)
Good luck to all.

Just to answer the reply about overweight women with children, being that I am one of those women I can say that most of the time it is luck. Ive been told you have better chances of conceiving if your not overweight, im discovering that now trying for my second one.

I wasnt trying at all for the first time. I got pregnant after my first AF in 2 years (I missed a BCP) so it took me completely by surprise. I am being told now, that because I have PCOS and overweight as a result that chances of me falling pregnant when I did with my first were very slim. All I can say is that the doctors dont always know everything, if you're meant to get pregnant you will, whether your overweight or not.
