I have hsv 2 and I was wondering if there are any certain soaps or mouth washes that are good to use with this. I have children and I am scared that after I use the restroom that I may have transmited it to my hads or what not so I scrub and scrub with (liquid) soap and water. Should I be using something with an antibacterial in it?
Also is there anything good to use as mouth wash after I have given oral to my husband? I get so scared after doing that also that I dont want to go near my children even a day later because they are so lovey and want kisses, I use listerine, Is that good should I use something else?? I am so scared of giving this to my children. Should I just never touch my kids again, is that the only way to be safe?

Tea Tree oil is a great essential oil for anti-viral & anti-bac properties.
Don't use it straight, but there are tons of tea tree products like soaps, body washes, even mouthwashes, that are more natural & gentle than products with tons of alcohol. That being said, I still give the toilet seat a quick swipe with rubbing alcohol after I use it at home...when having an OB, just to be safe for my hubby or guests. I don't really think it's likely at all for transmission to happen this way, but I'm a little bit of a germ freak anyway!
Any health food store should carry tea tree soaps & most drugstores sell Tom's of Maine mouthwash...they make a good mouthwash.
