Last year I had an allergy test and tested positive to Grasses. It's spring here in the Midwest - 60 today with things beginning to sprout. I've noticed over the last week that I've had a pressure in my head and temples and almost a numbing feeling in my upper teeth (strange). Today I'm actually getting a headache. Could these be symptoms of my allergies kicking in? I always though runny noses, watery eyes, and itchy eyes were the allergy symptoms. The numbing feeling in gums is weird. If these are possible allergy symptoms, what is best to take over the counter - and for how long? Thanks.

It's still a bit early for grass season and those don't sound like normal seasonal allergic reactions. I would suggest seeing your doctor to make sure it's not serious.

It could be grass allergies, sure- you say the Midwest but not what part so it's hard to say. I would go to the doctor, if you can.
OTC allegy meds can be great- Claritin is a good non-drowsy one. Get the generic; it is the same thing and is way cheaper. Benedryl is great and is very effective, but remember that Benedryl (diphenhydramine) is the "P.M." in Tylenol PM. Doubles well as a sleep aid.
Stay away drom the "-D" meds, unless you find that you need a decongestant (which it actually sounds like you might, from the pressure in your head). Whatever you end up taking (even if it's nothing at all) remember to drink a LOT of water.
Good luck!

You are describing an impacted sinus infection or sinusittus episode. Inflamed membranes and tissue.. with compacted mucus apply pressure to the facial nerves that numb the front and upper teeth and cause teenderness and pressure in the sinus pockets around the eyes. Left unchecked you may end up with an ear infection. The source of these infections can be triggered by allergens or as a secondary infection to a cold/flu viral infection.
GO to your GP or an ENT.
