Hi, I have currently been taking 50mg of zoloft for about 3 months now. It is helping a little with my anxiety but not as much as I would like. I still have lots of problems in social situations, i.e. restaurants and stores and feeling dizzy and like I have to escape. I took 50 mg of zoloft several years ago and it seemed to help me more then that it is now. I went off of it for a few years but am now back on it. I am also on the generic now instead of the name brand, so I am also wondering if that has something to do with it, or if I am just older and have more anxiety now. I am thinking about increasing to 100 but I am afraid I will feel weird and then that it will be hard to go back down to 50. Is 50 a very low dosage? Does anyone take 75mg. Have you noticed any more side effects on 100 than 50? The only side effects I have really had are night sweats and maybe a little decrease in libido. Does any other medicine work better for anxiety without side effects? I am wondering if I should get off the zoloft and try buspar. I really don't want to keep switching meds though, and would rather find something and stick to it. I have xanax for situational use. Thanks so much for your help and input :).

hello nashvillegirl:
I did really well on klonopin .5 in the morning and then .5 at night. It really helped me, and I was able to stay at the same dose for about 4 years. I didn't have hardly any side effects except being a little tired throughout the day. I had no sexual side effects with it, but everyone is different, you may not react the way I did. Whats good for one may not be good for another. I'm considering trying to get pregnant, so I had to get off of it. Definetly feeling the effects of that now! If you do decide to get on it, just know that it is hard to come off of. I'm misserable, but I have found that the benzos work well for me. Something to try? Good Luck

I didn't like Buspar. It didn't help and made me feel like I had the flu everytime I took it. Bogged me down bigtime and felt awful. I am needing an anti-depressant too like you that has little side effects.
