I don't know if we are allowed to talk about current events but the tragedy at Virginia Tech today has scared the heck out of me. Once in awhile when I'm in a Burger King or crowded resturant I get this funny feeling like dread that something like that is going to happen and then I have to get out of there ASAP. I don't know if this is anxiety, I think it is, but anxiety causes me depression, that's why I posted this here.
How can we who have anxiety and depression deal with these things? Any thoughts?
Thanks!

hey traveller,
it's unbelievable what is happening around the world these days!!! that poor guy most DEFINITELY had some deep-rooted mental health problems that needed to be addressed!!!!! only someone who is WAAAAY over the edge would do something like that!!! i can't believe it!!!! i couldn't escape seeing it, as it was the first thing on the page when i switched on my comp. no wonder i'm sometimes scared to even walk down the street. my sister always tells me that i'm nuts, and shouldn't live my life in fear, but you never know these days. we can be in the most wonderful surroundings, etc. --it doesn't seem to mean much anymore, though!!
God help us and let's say a prayer for everyone who was involved there, and for all of us as well.

Some things I do:
Surround myself with things and people that make me happy.
Deal with the problem head-on, if I can.
Talk to someone that may have gone through it already, or someone that may be able to help me out.. Like a therapist, friend, or relative.
I hope you can pull through and learn to deal with things in a way that makes you happy. :]
Depression and anxiety are a bothersome thing.
