hey hey
I am BPII w/rapid cycling
I took Lexapro for a month.. I went completely manic. I did nothing but party hard. I almost killed myself twice from being drunk on my friends roof and climbing into a window with a stairwell below it. To the point: An unfortunate side effect of lexapro was ejaculation disorder. Now after well over a year of being lexapro free I can't ejaculate when I am drunk or heavy hungover. I also grind my teeth and have sensations under my jaw when I am drunk, like when I was on lexapro. Whats the deal with this? This is so odd.

Well, as I am clearly not sure about the whole ejaculation aspect of taking Lexapro. I too was on it for a while and it flipped the script on me! I was 100% manic and was frankly a damn mess. I had suicidal thoughts and of course was taken off.
As far as this goes, if it is only occuring while you are drinking or have been drinking, you should probably check with your doctor.
Are you currently on any other meds??

Prop,
I don't know about the particular question you ask but what i do know is that as a BP you have to steer well clear of alcohol whether medicated or not.
If you are not medicated you are using alcohol instead, if you are medicated they won't work with alcohol in your system too - yes i know it sucks.
BP and alcoholism is co-morbid (one leads to the other and both can kill). I had an alcohol dependency - I used it to manage myself in stressful situations (cocaine too) - I wasn't alcholic though. Then i had a breakdown (psychotic/anxiety/mania) they upped my meds, told me to not drink or take street drugs for 3 months and see how i felt. Boy i felt fantastic. Now i can have the odd glass of wine but i do not 'need it'. I had to learn the hard way - I have not been able to work for over a year - that's how long it is taking for me to get better
Go to your doc, i think you might be developing an unhealthy relationship with alcohol.

From a man that is taking lexapro, I have delayed ejaculation caused by it. I'm bipolar 1 and never have had a problem with anti-depressants causing mania. Maybe hypo mania but never full blown. As for the getting drunk and having trouble ejaculating, this is normal, and will get worse as you age. The key is to not be drunk and having sex. It is much more enjoyable while sober anyways. Tom

good replys, thx
I am not taking any medication nor can I go to a doctor, I have no health coverage.
Here is something that is really odd... I blankout extremely easy. I could have a few shots and a few beers (or about 6 beers total) and wake up not knowing what I did for a good 4+ hours of my night. My friends tell me the crazziest stories about what I did or said. I dont hurt myself or others I just do odd things. I wake up alot with other peoples cloths on and mine are all wet. (not piss) My best female mate and I punch each other around and westle a bit. She had a HUGE welt on her arm when I bit her 'cause she had me pinned down. My other female friend made a gay joke to me and I humped her leg to demonstrate that a gay man would not hump a female in that manner. I dove into a pond after I pushed my friend into it 'cause I felt bad for getting her wet. I dont remember any of this.
So I completely agree that I should curb my alcohol consumption.

I absolutely agree with cutting off all alcohol. I have the same problem only I'm on meds. The one thing i wanted to say is be sure when stopping the alcohol use, you don't resort to another unhealthy coping mechanism. That's what your alcohol usage sounds like. Just be careful! It's easy to substitute one thing for another. Try to find something healthy now, so you don't through yourself into something that may be even more unhealthy than your drinking habits.
