Hi
Just wondering if anyone else has problems with phones. Whenever i am on a call my symptoms get a lot worse and i end up feeling really dizzy, spaced out and nauseous. Does anyone else have this problem? Would be grateful if anyone knows why this happens or anything that can be done to help?
Thanks

I have had this problem too. I also cannot listen to my ipod via earphones anymore.
I'm assuming it's because the sound is going directly into the ears, and if the nerves are inflammed/aggravated, it will make sympoms worse.
Sometimes I lower the volume and that helps. I also notice it when I'm on an intense phone call-perhaps I get tense all around, and the stress aggravates it.
Hi
Just to let you know that in the early days of this illness, two years ago this month, I could not use the telephone, could not watch the television because of the sound and the colours, and could not read magazines.
The telephone, tv etc is probably to do with sound. At first I could not stand to be near anyone talking loudly and someone doing the dishes used to send me crazy. My vision was never badly affected but apart from the sound being a problem on the tv, I couldn't watch it because all the colours were blurred.
When I started to feel better after a few months and started to venture out a bit more I paid a visit to the cinema and it was awful. I nearly fell off the seat, the symptoms came back with such force. But I kept perservering, using earplugs for months (because I love the cinema), and this worked for me.
It is a very lonely disease at first because for a lot of people there are lots of triggers which make you feel worse but things do get a lot better. I can have my music as loud as anyone else now, I am not fully recovered and still have some bad times but I get by.
You appreciate life much more when this has happened to you, believe me!

I too have had wierd feelings on the phone...ears feel upset, and I feel dizzy a bit. I think it must be the sound waves? It has gotten better over time...
