I started circuit training in november 5 days a week for 1/2hr but have had to stop, the problem is tenderness in my left hip, it hurts to lie on that side also it hurts in my left groin area and in my backside area but only on the left side, I want to go back to excersie but dont know if this has been the cause of the pain in the first place, has anyone experienced anything like this

I have that problem but it's because my hips are off it's axis. They are tilted.
I use to hurt really bad until I learned stretching. I can do the eclipital for an hour now with no pain. I do stretches for the long adductor muscles, stretching the short adductor muscles, static stretching, and dynamic stretching. I bought a yoga book to help me learn them.
There are five adductor muscles, the pectineus, adductor brevis and adductor longus. The adducotor longus are called short adductors which go from the pelvis to the thigh bone and the gracilis and adductor magnus are long adductors which go from the pelvis to the knee.
Do you warm up and stretch before and after doing your workouts? When doing the circuit training are you keeping your back straight and using your legs and not leaning on your arms? Doing any of the stairmasters, bikes, eclipital machine if not done properly will cause problems.

Thanks for the great advice, I dont think I stretch or warm up for long enough, I am thinking of starting again but taking it a bit slower I kind of went crazy at it, maybe I will go 3 times a week and see how that goes
