Hi there,

I'm getting quite worried as I havent had my period yet and last month I was really light. I'm excessively exercising at the moment, and under eating because of a holiday in june. I am aware I'm probably over doing it, does anybody know if over excerising will stop your periods ?

Its worrying me now but its the only way I feel in control of my weight and keeping it down.

Yes, yes, yes. Excessive exercise can DEFINITELY slow or stop your periods. I played very intense volleyball in high school (nationally ranked, very serious stuff) and we practiced 4 times a day in the summer and then twice a day during school. Pretty much none of us had periods at all. Ever.

I eventually went on BCP to regulate my cycles. But before then, I was lucky if I saw a period once every 4 months or so.

It definitely can. If you stop menstruating, your body is telling you (loudly) that something is wrong and you need to get a better balance. Overdoing it is never a good idea, even if you're trying to make a deadline. You can get control of your weight without hurting your body. Please, please consider a healthier, moderate approach.
