The Dr. who told me yesterday that I may "possibly" have FM referred me to a rehab facility in Illinois that specializes in rehab and treatments for chronic pain, spinal injuries, FM, etc. They can also test me and hopefully confirm the suspected diagnosis of FM or whatever else they decide may be wrong with me.
Has anyone here been to or heard of this facility? The two locations are in Wheaton IL and Oak Brook IL. I'm about halfway between the two.
It sounds like they offer many different kinds of treatments including accupuncture, which in my previous experience sometimes helps with chronic pain.
Hpoefully this facility and it's Dr's can help me.
P.S. I don't work for MARIANJOY, and I don't solicit patients for them or anything like that. I saw a Dr and "MARIANJOY" was the name of the med. group on his business card. After he examined me, he referred me to the MARIANJOY facility for dx and treatment. It is a rehab hospital for treating the "whole person", from physical therapy to medication mgmt, to psychological treatment, etc. They have inpatient and outpatient programs for different illnesses. My PC Dr said he is familiar with the facility and says they are highly accalimed in the midwest. I have an appt there soon. It sounds kinda scary, like one of those places you go and they lock you in and you never get out! LOL Seriously, it really does sound kind of scary. I think I'll ask a friend to go w/me to the appt.
