I'm not sure what to put since I smoked one day and quit again. Do I put the date from when I stopped again?

First time was April 9, 2007

Second time was April 15,2007.

Started Chantix: February 7, 1007. Quit date: February 14, 2007. Am in the process of weaning off Chantix -- if all goes well, will be off the rx on May 2, 2007. I'm a happy (non smoking) camper.

Quit date was Jan 25th. Now, after 55+ years of heavy smoking I am 83 days smoke free. Much of the credit goes to Chantix. I finished up the Chantix 16 days ago and am still going strong.

If I have just one I'll be back where I started. Where I started was desperately wishing i would be where I am today .

I quit on August 14, 2006.
Have been quit for 8 months 4 days as of April 19, 2007. That is 248 days!!

I went fishing today and never once wanted a cigarette. That was one that I was kinda worried about. I passed!!! (Notice I said went fishing, not catching!)

Raymatt,
Hi fellow!! Haven't seen you around lately!! Glad to see you're still with us!

Congratulations on completing the 12 weeks of Chantix!!

How did you come off of it? Did you just stop taking it or did you cut back your dosage gradually? Did you have any problems coming off of it?

I'm glad you are still doing good!! I had no problem with wanting to smoke after I quit taking it. I think a lot of people are afraid that will happen when they stop the Chantix.
You need to stop in more often!!

Hello Memaw

Yes, I'm still around and doing well with my quit thank you.

I stopped the Chantix after 11 weeks. I had been taking only one .5 mg dose for the week before. For two weeks before that I was taking .5 mg twice a day (I was cutting my pills in half). After the 2nd week of Chantix I was taking .5 mg three times a day so I really only took the full 2mg per day for about a week. I did that to reduce the nausea. Anyway, I quit the Chantix a week early because 1) I felt I was strong in my quit and 2) I have enough of a supply that I would be able to get right back on it if I felt my quit was in danger. I would not hesitate to take it again if I need it and I recommend Chantix to anyone who wants to quit smoking. The minor side effects I had when taking it are nothing compared to the results you can get from it. As good as it is you still must work at your quit. You are the one that determines if you succeed or fail. I can honestly say after being smoke free for just about three months it is worth the effort.

Getting off the Chantix was a non issue for me, I felt no strong urges to smoke although I still think about cigarettes frequently.

Continued success to all you quitters!

Congratulations Evonne and welcome to our group!!!! You will find so much support here. Please write with any rant, question, problems you are having, nothing is too small or silly to ask us on here! The support here has really helped me in my quit. It helped to read that my dopamine levels have dropped way down since quitting and we need to reward ourselves constantly to get the "reward" centers of the brain working again and this could take months.

My girlfriend who quit with me at work here and I are going to lunch today to treat ourselves for our 2-week mark! We've also discovered that we love holding and chewing/eating cinnamon sticks!!! Who knew?!!!! LOL

Best of luck to you!!! :)

I quit june 12th 2006 I never counted the amoutn of cigs or $$ I just noticed I had more. Theycallmemom if you want a reason to quit heres's one There is a little known thing called third hand smoke that we as smokers pass along to those we love via hair, clothing etc.

When I smoked I was very careful not to do it around my son never in the house or car he had to be on the other side of the playground before I lit one up. Last May he was diagnosed with Asthma. His allergist informed me of third hand smoke and how it could trigger an attack for my son. I don't know about you but the thought of my son not being able to breath well it put the fear of god into me. Eventhough I was armed with that info I still tried to smoke by wearing a hat and a smoking jacket while smoking outside. I stopped and took a good look at what I was willing to do and risk just for a damn smoke and I quit about a week later cold turkey. You know what the best part is, is my son telling some one he's my hero because I quit smoking for him so he saved my life.

you can do it I know you can we mom's can do anything if it's for our babies.

Thanks Fibrana and best of luck to you to!!! and All quitters on healthboards.

Been 5 days for me (so far so good) the support from this board alone has helped me alot. I have found the 5 days have dragged and I never realised how much smoking took up my life, until now.
Will keep you posted, hopefully I will post on my 1 week anniversary of being a NON-SMOKER!!!! :blob_fire
