View Full Version : Do you find minor illness causes worsening of FM symptoms?

I have been making fairly good progress, but I woke up this morning with an intense fever and several typical flu symptoms.

Now, that's bad enough, but it seems that even a small infection of some kind makes all my FM symptoms way worse--a cold can knock me out because of the secondary effects of it increasing my FM symptoms of pain and such.

Is this typical?

Thanks in advance.

It is typical for me. Even being around people who have bugs, then getting the minor "fighting it off" symptoms -- without actual fever/illness, sets of my fibro big time.

Best wishes.

Yeah, it's typical for me too. If I get a illness for someone else, for example, I wind up worse than they were. I still have the same symptoms, but they just make me hurt worse. I mean, when you're sick, most of the time you are achy too. Well, we're already achy, so, it's like adding another layer of achiness, and the second layer likes to aggravate the first too. That's how I think of it.
