View Full Version : Better after Cold Anyone?

Has anyone ever felt better after a cold? I had a pretty bad cold recently which lasted for several weeks and now a lot of my dizziness symptoms are a lot better - ear fullness, wooziness, spaciness etc. all much improved.

This is the first time I've had a proper cold in several years and definitely the first time since all this dizzy stuff started in May 05.

It's as though having a cold cleared out my e-tubes etc. It's early days and who knows what the future will bring but I'd be curious if anybody has any similar experiences.

Hi GMK,

I had a similar experience DURING a cold. I think I even posted here about it once. But not after, to my recollection. I too have had this since April 2005, non-stop. Mine is more spaciness with mild dizziness. Occasional bouts of tinnitus of the "audio distortion" variety, affecting my left ear. I don't even have a real diagnosis yet, which adds to my anxiety. Hope you continue to improve.

Regards, Brenden.

The only thing I took was 'Lemsip' which is basically paracetamol. I didn't take any de-congestants or anything like that.

The only other thing worth noting is that I stopped taking my over the counter vitamin supplement last August. I think this is why I got the cold - vitamins are pretty effective at preventing them.

I'm coming round to the view that it's better not to take too many supplements etc. and that it's better to let nature take it's course - even if this means getting a bout of flu from time to time.

Having said all that, it's possible that my dizziness is not connected to any of this. There's a big psychological dimension to this, so it's hard to objectively link symptoms with things you did (or didn't) do.
