I am new to the forum and just looking to see if anyone has any ideas on what I am experiencing or any advice !! I have been to many doctors and had autoimmune blood tests ran (wondering if I've had enough checked out). I've seen my regular opthamologist, 2 cornea specialists, rheumatologist, allergist and dermatologist. I have not seen a neurologist as of yet.
Okay my issue is this: In December of 2005 I was diagnosed with pink eye in both eyes and put on medication. Used the meds but light sensitivity wouldn't go away. Opth put me on steroid eye drops. Worked great until a week after I stopped using them. I've been back & forth on steroids (prednisone too and even a medication for optical rosacea - which I do not have), antibiotics, etc... There is deep inflammation in my corneas and the inflammation is causing scar tissue. My opth says that something, we cannot figure this out, is causing the inflammation and therefore light is bouncing around in my eyes causing the sensitivity. I don't wear contacts anymore, just eyeglasses. I don't use makeup. I've bought a non-fragrance lotion for my face, use the same shampoo & conditioner that I have for YEARS and rarely use perfume anymore b/c I cannot stand it. Should I have my sinus cavities checked out? I am at my wits end with this thing and I am scared of losing my eyesight. Problem I face right now is that we cannot get aggressive with treatment b/c I am 2 months from having my 3rd child. I am currently using Lotemax (steroid drops) and at least my eyes respond to it but what happens when I stop using it? The inflammation may return - ugh! I have no idea what I have - there are no infections just inflammation. I've stumped every doctor I've seen - terrible feeling! Thank you!!
