I was hoping to hear from some people who have had surgery to correct their vision. I am thinking about asking my opt. about it but I thought I would see what people who had it done have to say about it.
Also if any of you are from Canada, (as I know price can vary greatly between countries) how much does the surgery cost nowadays?

I had it done in 1994 for $4,000. I had several procedures. ALK, PRK, RK, and Lasik. My vision was extremely poor and now it's great. I do suffer from extremely dry eyes, but I think it's allergy related. My night vision is lousy, but I'll take it. I've had 13 wonderful years with no glasses or contacts!
im from toronto, on and had lasik done for around 3200-but its based on how bad your eye perscription is...and mines horrible..lol its been over 2 yrs now i think...i had dry eyes at the beginning..took my flax oils/fish oils and pout teporary plugs in and that helped..oh plus the eye drops
good luck:)

Now that the US and Cdn dollar are at par, you might want to compare prices between countries.

I had extremely poor vision and had Lasik in 1999 and have been glasses/contact free ever since. It was the best decision I ever made. I went to a very reputable eye clinic and paid a little more than some of my friends ($3,000 vs $1,800) but I had no had no problems or complications as most of them did. You can find inexpensive surgery, but you generally get what you pay for. My recommendation is to ask your opt for suggested clinics and so some research, after all you only get one set of eyes.
As for the cost now, I'm sure it's less expensive than it was when I had it done and there's probably little cost difference between the US and Canada.
