I will start my treatment this coming Monday. I have read about it and it does not sound like it will be a easy thing to go through. So I'm new at this. I don't know what tx refers to. I'm also new at this blogging. I was searching for a site with information and communication with others who are going through the same thing. I have no moral support from family(long story) but it is a fact. Taking the treatment and going to work and coming home over and over and no one there to say I'm here for you, and you can do this at the end of my day will not help my moods any. I have been taking a antidepressant to prepare me for the treatments to come. I would appreciate any information that you think would help. Blu

Thank you for your reply. I am glad that I will be able to learn and make friends with others on this site. I look forward to becoming part of this family. I am trying to have a good out look on the whole situation. Monday will be my first treatment and I am trying to think positive. Thanks again for the reply. Blu

 Hi, I have a question why would you start your tx on a Monday if you are a working person? I was told take my shots on a Friday night, that way you will sleep through most of the affects (if any) and the meds will have settled in your body by the time Monday rolls around. Since it is your first shot Fridays sound better. It will give you a chance to see how it affects your body. Still maybe your doc has his or her reasons. We all are different and the meds affect each individual differently. By the way, how old are you, what Geno and liver stage were you diagnosed with? I like to know the ages of each of you, etc. to see whose diagnoses matches up with mine. I don't know if age has anything to do with the tx affects but I am pretty healthy except for my Hep C. I'm 66 years., Geno 1 and Stage 3. I was to have started on my meds a few weeks ago but I'm still debating?

I hope to start the first Friday in May which should be the 4th. My children want me to give it a try and my doctor says I'll be ok. I just still am uneasy as far as side affects. Especially as to how strong the meds are. Of course they have to be for the virus is a strong culprit. I hope to be joining all the rest of you in treatments in May. I'm just hoping I fair as well as some of you have. I'll be praying that I do and for all the rest of you to continue with your treatments and test well. So you just keep posting with the rest of us and you will learn a lot about Hep C and what others are going through while in treatment. We're the ones that know for we are going through it. I hope your family comes around and supports you. It's not a time to turn away from you, blame you or whatever the reason. If not, you have a family here to help you through it. Stay positive.

I'm 57
I thought that I was home free when I began TX and had no side effects-Tomorrow will be week 14 for me and while it's still not as bad as I had read about-I do feel pretty bad. Tired, achy, pain, bad taste, sore tongue, crabby, sweaty-and low wbc.
I don't think it matters which day to do the shot-Just remember-it-the TX- is better than the alternative.

Thanks, for your info. It seems if I am so lucky to just have what you have I can manage. I'm crappy a lot now. :) I assume the blob fire symbolizes that someones overly excited or fired up. It certainly isn't cool. Anyway, I suppose you are right about the day to take your shots wouldn't matter. I think I'll do Fridays though. You just keep check on your wbc and try not to get any infections. It could pose a problem if your wbc is too low to fight it.

Other than that you seem to be fairing well. I may be just putting to much emphasis on the side affects and going over board. I'll know for sure when I start tx. I will post and let everyone know how it does my body good or not so. :) Take care everyone and I'm certainly not a :blob_fire buy more an  when it comes to starting my txs. Trying to be humorous.

yes, another injection, Neupogen one time a week-it came up a little after 2 weeks-went from 1.8 to 2.9-should be above 3.8

I have to take the shot on Monday because the clinic is only open on Monday and Tuesday. I took the first shot today @ 5pm. I will take the next one on Sunday and the next on Saturday and then on Friday. And then I will continue on Fridays. I took this week as my vacation from work, since I did start on Monday. I also took Ribaviran and a new experimental drug that is called SCH503034. I will take the pills everyday. Oh, and I am 56 years old. Thank you for your reply. Blu

What in the new experimental drug about? Do you know? I have never heard about that one. I just got done with tx and I don't think it matters when you take the shot except at first. I think the pills were the things that had most of the side effects anyway. Those drugs are wierd. They seemed to creep up on me with feeling bad slowly so I did not notice so much and then I really noticed but got used to it. Now I am waiting for them to wear off. I was really tired mostly and crabby. I got a anti depressant that did wonders. I had a lot of fatigue and body aches. It was hard for me to keep up with my house the way I did before. I also have a two year old and he did not get the attention he did before treatments. I felt bad but there was nothing I could do. I was really tired a lot. good luck.
