I'm scheduled to take a Food Allergy skin test( I think its a skin test. The assistant said the test will take about 1 1/2 hour) next week to see if I'm allergic to any foods, because of my symptoms of stomach noises. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. I want to make sure that the testing is covered by my insurance since I hear many people saying that the testing is expensive. Please Advise.

Thank in advance.

It can vary widely all over the country. Check with BC/BS on what they will cover. Different policies have different limits.

my BC/BS policy covers this 100% BUT as the previous poster posted, your policy may be different.

Something that most people should have but do not is a plan summary. It explains what your plan covers and how much it covers. You should be able to get one throught your HR department at work, through your plan administrator, if different that the HR department, or directly through BC/BS.

You should have a telephone number on your card for inquiries. Call it.
