Hi everyone,
I'm 45, and on Yasmin for a uterine fibroid. So my question is, can I be having perim symptoms while on the Pill? I've had persistant nausea ( started way after the BC pill) no matter what I eat--mucho gas, gurgling, bloating, which is only prevented to an extent by taking a piece of an ATIVAN TABLET before I eat( dont know WHY this works but dr's unable to diagnose stomach so I do what works for me since they misdiagnosed the gut stuff with wrong meds that made it all worse); a headache the week I am off the pill that nothing works on; total airheaded behavior ( what you all call foggy); a mind that won't focus or shut up;can't get to sleep; memory out the window( where did I put???fill in the blank);anxiety about dealing with crowds and public places-- I used to be a get up and go girl and now everything seems too much trouble and not worth the worry, you know, easier to stay home and not deal with traffic, parking, crowds, and eating because of gassy gurgly stomach!
Is it possible to have these symptoms while on Yasmin, or is something else wrong I should look into? BTW my mom died 10 years ago and have no living female relatives so no one to ask anything of!
Cheers!

I was on bcp's for 9 months last year to control ovarian cysts and heavy periods. Those two problems really improved while on the pill. Sorry to say, but the other peri peri symptoms didn't improve. Anxiety, insomnia, acne, headaches, restless legs, heart palps and more I can't think of now never improved. Now that I am off the pill for about 6 months, the ovarian cysts have returned, but so far the 2 periods I had were ok. Funny too, I was so worried about gaining weight on the pill, I have gained more off the pill. I don't think the pill is an end all for peri symptoms. I was grateful to end the heavy periods while on the pill, I hope they don't return. Good luck. Ann

Sounds like peri symptoms to me. You can have them while you are on the pill. The headaches are due to the estrogen drop you are having the week you are off. You can get a patch to carry you over that week but it may not work. It didn't with me. My headaches got worse. The nausea is also a symptom of peri. I have that too. Your best bet may be to talk to your gyn. Search this site for info on helping with the symptoms that you are having. Hope you feel better. T.
