Hi
Yep---I was given them---right away---by my Primary Care Doc---it is pretty much---- standard Medical Cookbook---stuff---did not help---at all!!
This junk continued---for another---13/14 months....
The VRT are in the Information Archives(sticky--1st post on board):

I was on them for 10 days I believe and I had no obvious issues when I slowly tapered off of it.
What I have been told and it seems to be true, is that the brain needs to learn how to compensate for the death of a nerve so as time goes by the brain takes over the function. I noticed that when I have allergies now my dizziness is more noticeable. How long have you had VN? You should see improvement each week.

I am approaching 3 months since my diagnosis and I actually don't notice the balance issues much anymore. At 7 weeks I was still significantly affected with spinning when turning my head to the left or right, tending to fall forward, poor balance, etc. My allergies are starting to bother me and I noticed the quick turns of my head to the side are slightly bothersome and I think that is related to the allergies. Honestly, I saw improvement every single week, slow but steady. I don't remember what I was given (I was in the hospital) but I tapered off the steriod (given in case there was inflammation) and I am very glad I was given it, I was so sick I wanted anything possible to help me recover. What did your doctor say about the spinning? Are you spinning so badly you can't function? I still am not 100 percent but I am much, much better.

With me the spinning definatly sucks makes my head heavy but what is harder is the nausea and general feeling of malaise. And this is probably unrelated but everytime my symptoms pop back up I get diarhea. So I just feel like crap all the time. I hope you are right and I will start to feel better Husband just went back to work and I am full time mommy again so i am struggling.

I get the "trots" too! So much so I'm now being treated for IBS as well!! The only thing that helps me there is to stop eating!
