My lovely wife gave me a very nice Birthday Card. ( Really it was for a "very seasoned Man" :D :D . She told me she had just received some cupons in the mail from here faviote ladies store. Said that they will expire today. So I said "for my birthday, why not you go shoping for something" She just smiled and off she went :) After all...she's why I'm here today....23 years ago was not quite as pleasent of a day.
Looking foward to a very special Birthday Dinner tonight with two other couples at my faviote place.
I guess I will tell myself to....

To the birthday boy:
Many happy returns, Mr. Man. Hey, that would make you a Taurus, right? I knew I liked you for one of many reasons - I am also a Taurus. Probably means squat to you - that's okay.
One characteristic is we don't care for superfluous nonsense and we cut the fat. Some people like it, many don't. What are you gonna do?
Have a great birthday celebration at your favorite place, and I'm praying you blow out ALL your candles!!!!!!

Dear Eyes,
There is always someone who is a little late and that's me, but I wanted to wish you a very happy birthday and many healthy and happy years ahead.
Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with us and for being a continual inspiration and a reminder that someone with BP can live an extraordinary life.
Hope your day was wonderful!

I Hi posted a few weeks ago whilst abroad. Back in the UK. Congrats on the birthday. I turned 40 when out there and was supposed 2 have saved the world by then. Thought I got ill in summer 2003, but it was 2002 i've just found out, oh how time flies. Interested 2 know a bit more about young eyes. U have been stable 4 along time and yet I can understand why you still have an interest in an illness that has effectively to really affected u 4 a long time, else why would u be here? Those of us who take our meds dillegently, cannot stress how important this is to get stable/well again. But if the measure of a doctors succsess is 2 return u to a live that made u ill in the first case, aren't we gonna just get ill again anyway. Of course with age our lives change. But did u make a fundamental change in yr life after yr last eppisode? I'm not being antagonistic just trying 2 work out whats important 2 me going forward. Thanks in anticipation eyes. Paul

Paul.....Thanks for the congrats on my birthday. Hey...40 is a tough year..
Yes,either you are trying to save the world,,,(by the way,It's already been done !). Or your heading down the "Long Bipolar Road", with a fork at the end...one way to stability....the other way to disaster. Being compliant with your meds is imparative. Stability is always a challange. However,I know with each year,I become stronger with reading my triggers; and I have found the secret....Listen to myself. Give to others. And be Honest and True to myself.
You know,Paul,if you want to fight your pdoc about what he/she can do for you;then at your next visit go in with boxing gloves and prove your point !
In other words...If you think you can do the pdoc "bit" better than they can..then you do it ! I fought them for years...and with time ....I findly shut the h**l up !
Change,Paul, is the name of the game. After my last eposode,I had no other choice but to change a h**l of alot things in my....or subcome to death.
So...As I stood at that "Fork" in the "bipolar road", looking for an answer (it never came);I choose "action" and headed toward "stability ! !
Paul....did you know that the oppoiste of being "antagonisitc" is "anticipation".
You said these two words......Now,you need to add "action"....and walk straight down that "bipolar road" toward stability. BTW...it's long and hard....
but,Man, if I can do it, you and any BPer can do It....:D

Eyes, if lack of insight into the illness is part of it how can a person ever accept they are sick when they are so sure everyone else is the one that is sick. I read that the part of the brain that makes a person bp also causes lack of insight so how does it ever get resolved? My husband is so sure our problems are not from bp and are me that he is willing to go along with this divorce. He referred to taking meds as having to earn his way into my bed. I don't get it.

Marsh....A quick answer...The BP mind is a master at the"Blame Game" if you know what I mean. The BPer never thinks he/she is at "Fault"
You don't resolve it for them....They have to resolve it......Get on Meds...
And work toward stability......But they have to DO IT
This is one post where I say LOOK AY MY POSTING STATEMENT :D

Thanks, Eyes. You must get so tired of saying the same thing to us women. It is almost like we need reassurance that we are not to blame for the mess things are in.

Well I think that all you Ladies deserve all the reassurance that I or any of us can give you....After all "reassurance" is the name of the "game" on this board :) And It would be wise to forget the "Blame Game". It is too hard to beat...and you don't get a head even trying to "Beat It"

Eyes ~ Just wanted to pop in over here and thank you for your support for my brother. Thanks for sharing your losses with me, as much as I am preparing myself it is just so hard. My mom is having the most difficult time.....she cries each day knowing that we are a day closer to losing my brother. I am trying to comfort her and encourage her to spend as much time as she can with my brother because if anything what he needs the most right now is his family.
Thanks again, Eyes. I posted over on the Death & Dying board...it's very slow over there but I thought it belonged more over there than here.
I am carrying on just like you say:) ~ Goody:angel:
