I almost feel stupid for posting this...so dumb. I was laying on the couch and I stretched my arms over my head and bam!! I must have gone a little to far I had a spasm in the lower left part of my back that was unbeliveble. It lasted for at least 15 minutes and is still sore now. I didn't realize you could get a charliehorse in the back. So if you like to stretch be careful.

Ouch!! I hope you are feeling better this morning. Sometimes it takes the simpliest things. Last night my dh hit my chair with his chair and sent an electric current down my backside. Who would have known??

Dee, I hope you're feeling better this morning. Try a heating pad if it's still sore. If it persists, of course follow up with your doctor, but it sounds like you just startled your muscles.

I'll find out tomorrow what I did to myself when I reached out to turn off my alarm clock 4 1/2 weeks ago. My shoulder and arm are making my back pain pale in comparison right now. Yes, the smallest things...

Take care,
Emily

I know it does not take much for those muscles to get mad

Pepper I was that way before my surgery any bump to the bed like my daughter climbing on the bed to watch tv or something would be so painfully. Also I could not pull open doors If someone wasn't with me I would have to try to use my whole body to open doors. Love those electric ones.

After my sugery all that stopped so that was great. I sure hope that disc of yours will heal without further surgery. When is your next appt.?

One thing I have really gotten to hate is muscle spasms.

Dee, I hope you feel better soon. And please don't feel dumb about that, or stupid!!! I did a good one 8 months ago.:jester: I was at a friends house, and I lifted the toilet seat. I through my back out. It took me 2 hours to get home and in bed. My friend lived a block away, and I had my car. It took me 30 min to go 50 feet, from my car to my house. And another 30 to get into bed.
Now feel dumb!!! How do you explain that one to the doc, let alone your boss. I think sometimes, with a bad back, you just got to laugh at some of the things that happen.:D :jester:
Dee, I do though, hope you feel better.

Thanks for all your stories I feel a little less silly now. Today I feel like I have whiplash everything is sore and I guess pulling that one muscle effected my whole body. Its not horrible pain but it sure doesn't feel good. I am going to try and walk a little and then lay on the heating pad for awhile and see if that helps. ( I once sneezed my back out try and explain that one) lol

I am glad you are feeling better but please be careful and watch this as it could be something more.

My mom had a bad back way back when before MRI's and Cat Scans and she actually blew out a disc and was put to bed for 2 months. She self fused. We found this out years later by an X-ray for something else.

She did this by getting up off the toliet in the bathroom. So little things can cause problems with us spineys.

Hope you continue to improve my prayers are with you. By the way my mom is 87 and never and any more back problems she was in her 40's when that happened. Amazing.
