i guess this is kinda a silly question but. how long do bottles last? do i need to buy new ones every so often or just keep using the same ones? i buy new nipples all the time but i was just wondering about the bottle part?

As long as your bottle isn't cracked or faded (if you need to see numbers for the ounces) then I don't see a reason to buy new bottles.

You only need to replace the nipples if they are cracked or worn, or if you are changing nipple size. Don't forget to sanitize them by boiling in hot water for 3 minutes when you take them out of the package.
The bottle, though, doesn't need to replaced as long as it's in good shape. I even bought a set of "used" bottles (Dr. Browns) from an online auction website, which was much cheaper than new. Perfectly fine... though I did sanitize them all in a big pot of boiling water... and bought new nipples.
