I was playing trampoline basketball with my trainer at the gym, and my back started hurting but I kept going since I only had like 5 minutes left. That was a week ago and my right muscle right under my shoulder is killing me. During the day once i stretch it out, it's fine. Once I go to bed and wake up though it KILLS me to move it again. It's been a week, is this normal? Is it just strained? How long will it last?
Thank you for any help you can give me.

It can last, let me tell u! Try wet heat, it can releave some pain. Some people feel relieve from applying ice, but it never helped me. Before my fusion i used to be a big time gym body. And i can tell you: you must let this problem to your trainer. Don't think if they work in this field they know everything. You body tells you something is wrong? Listen to it and don't repeat the same mistakes. I did it to my self couple of times too with weight training. Had to have cortisone shots in that area.
You will be OK eventually i am sure. Just be careful for a while.

Under your shoulder or shoulder blade? I have horrid pain for my scapula under my shoulderblade and close to my spine and have been on Fent patches and Hydrocodone for a year. I have been doing accupuncture, massage, Traumeel, anything possible, and its been about the same. Plus I am a golfer on the circuit, and have had to really try different things. I have good days and bad. I hope the best for oyu, and if its remotely what Ive described, Id be happy to share with you any ideas or PT excercises Ive learned that help. It sounds like a strain, and maybe you need to rest it and all. Id need more of an idea where the pain is to help you out more, but ID BE HAPPY TO!
