I wanted to start a new thread for you as you are such an inspiration to everyone here.

How is the pool walking and hottub going? Is the pain improving?

Have they increased the dosage of the elevil? I know I am just full of the questions

I do want to thank you for being here for me. You have gotten me thru alot of tuff times and for that I really thank you and can't express enough how appreciative I am. I just took my meds so spelling is bad sorry.

How are the kids and the schooling going? You are so lucky to be able to home school they really are getting the best education to have such a compassionate Mom and not only text book lessions but lessions on compassion as they have been with you to help you thru all of this.

Ok I have rambled enough my prayers are with you and I hope the pain is managable.

Hi Sweetie!! You are much to kind!! The pool and hot tub are amazing. They are helping me so much. I asked my hubby if I could just move out there permanently. I have been getting into the hot tub 3 to 4 times a day for 1/2 hour increments. I have been getting into it when the pain is high and the relief is incredible.

My doctor increased my elavil to 50 mg at night and we are hopeful that it will help me with sleeping at night.

My pain levels are doing much better than two weeks ago.

Clover, you mean alot to me and I am so thankful to have you and everyone here on the board to talk to. Without you all I would be so lost and alone.

Gosh pepper I have tears in my eyes now.

Hey guess what I found out today that I will be getting a new boss. I am excited about this. Hopefully she will be better at the managing think then the current boss.

I am glad that the hottub is helping. I remember when I was on the elevil I had taken my meds and was talking to hubby and it was like ok I have to sleep now it just knocked me out. Sure did help my nerve pain to.

You also mean alot to me and I am so thankful I found this board when I did.

Hope you have a good night and sleep well

Clover I pray that this new boss is an answer to your prayers and that work will calm down now. It will be great if this job works out for you. Is that zanax still helping you?

Well I so understand that feeling with the elavil.....I am almost at that point now. Hope this post makes sense. Take care girlfriend.

I hope she is better than my current manager. At least I was able to get rid of my trouble maker. We are having a weird rain storm for wyoming anyway. Has rained alot yesterday and now all night. We need the mositure but my store (kiosk) is under a skylight at the mall that leaks. I am suppose to be off tomorrow but I am sure I will have to go make sure we have no damage from leaking tonight.

I tried yesterday being at home not taking any meds. I woke now in alot of pain and had to take them. The zanax is working and helping the pain but gosh it just seems that this back nightmare will not every be over.

Tonight or should I say early morning I feel alot of pressure in the S1 level where most of the work was done. It started as just pressure and I took some advil and went back to bed well 2 hours later I was ready to scream in pain. My fault I know but dang I don't want to be on pain meds forever.

Is this my type A personality coming out again and me just being impatient.

oh well we will see what tomorrow brings

Pepper thanks for being here for me I really do appreciate it. Sometimes I feel so all alone in this mess. My hubby I know is worried that i will not get better because of the other problems with my back and not be able to work. It is so scary to think that may happen. Sorry I know I am whining.

Clover don't ever say you are sorry about whinning. I do understand being afraid of not being able to support your family in the future. I as well have that fear. My dh father was diagnosed with alzhemiers at 49 and it runs heavily in his family. My hubby is 43 and the thought has crossed my mind especially when hubby forgets something. What would we ever do? We certainly can't depend on me at this junction in our life and we certainly could not continue to live in Northern VA (very expensive). What I have had decided to do is give it to the LORD -- not easy -- and live today for what it is. We have no control over what tomorrow will bring so as hard as it is try to let it go and concentrate on today.

Clover, look back at the last couple of weeks and the pain you have had. Have you been in alot of pain??? We know the answer is yes, so right now just take your meds. My opinion is when you begin to have more and more good days with controlled pain then it is time to try and back off the meds. Right now just does not make sense in my eyes.

Take care sweetie and I pray the meds kick in soon.

Thanks pepper for the sweet words. It really has helped. I am going to lay back down for a while. My employee that is opening the store this morning is my best one so if we have water damage she will call me I am sure.

I do think the weather makes a difference in my pain also. My pain is better and controled but you are correct I am just to hard on myself like my Dr said.

Hope you have a great day. I will talk to you soon.

We are supposed to have a front come thru tonight and be here until the weekend -- lots of rain. It should be interesting to watch my pain levels.

Get some sleep sweetie and I pray that when you wake up you feel better.

I did go back to bed for a couple of hours and do feel better. I think trying to cut back on the meds yesterday and the front that came thru did me in. I have taken my meds and plan on resting today. The pain is not as bad and the leg pain has stopped it is just the pain in the S1 level where most of the work (surgery) was done. I think I have a couple of men with jack hammers working in there and they need to take the day off HA HA.

Thanks so much for being here to listen and give advice I sure need lots of it at times.

I made a pot of homemade soup yesterday so don't have to worry about cooking today I am just taking it easy.

Yummy. I love homemade soup. What time is dinner??

Can you feel your rods??

I am sorry you have little jack hammers in your back. That must be some kind of pain. The vibration of those hammers alone make me cringe.

I don't think I really get the muscle spasms. Everything feels really tight and I feel like I can't move or is that a muscle spasm?? To me, I equate muscle spasms to intermittment pains that is crampy or sharp in nature.

I am glad that you are taking the day off. Right now I need to go do 7th grade math so that I can explain it to the daughter. I can't wait for algebra, trig, or calculus!! I can feel my meds kicking in so that should be blast trying to stay focused on Math!! :dizzy:

Pepper & Clover, I am new here but I was wondering and I thought I read on one of your post that lycria was replaced with elavil? I had bad side effects to lycria and neuroton. My toes are numb (which the lycria helped) and my knees, would that be a replacment I could ask my dr about? My disc in my neck are bulding and I have some nerve damage, along with muscle spams.
Thanks

Welcome
You have come to a good place for support. Pepper is the one one the elevil I have been on it for a smashed nerve in the leg and it worked for me. The neurtion did not work. I had bad side effects.

Good luck We will be praying for you

 Pastorswife!! Yes my lyrica was replaced with elavil. You might consider seeing if you can try it. It has really helped me alot. I think with this nerve pain what works for one person may not work for the next one. It is a matter of trying multiple meds and finding what works best for you. So far I have noticed that when I take it, I have to be completely ready for bed because within the 1/2 hour I will be asleep. I am also noticing the increased thirst. I can't get enough to drink.

Welcome to the board and I pray that you can find some relief soon for your pain.

Thank you so much I will ask my Dr. When I took the lycria it caused me
to be pretty aggatated, kind of restless, almost panicy. So I took it in the morning which helped thoughout the day. I have a real hard time sleeping, I take diazapam before I go to bed and it helps somewhat. But looking at other post today that the cervical area hernations maybe be causing most of my Pins & Needle feelings in my arms and knees. My old Dr was killed in a car accident recently so in a small town it is hard to find another, but have found a new one, so hopefully she will have some ideas. Thank you guys so much you are all wonderful...

Sorry to but in here pepper and clover and also welcome pastrowife! But Clover and Pepper you both are wonderful and amazing women. I would like to take this time to thank the both of you for being there for me. I remember when I joined this board and how new this experinece was for me and how scared I was and pepper you always answered all of my threads with kind words and encouragement, even though you where facing your own surgery and problems. the same goes for you clover, you always have a kind word to say and always seem to make me smile and cheer me up someway. So really you both are important to the back boards and I personally want to thank you both for all the care and concern you have given me and for all the prayers. I pray that you both continue to heal and pepper I am glad the pool therapy helps with your pain as well as the elavil, I wish you did not have that herniation but honey we are praying on that. Clover, I am happy you are getting a new boss I hope this one is better than the last and have some compassion, because I think the last one did not even check on you while you where in the hospital. Glad the xanax is working for yah and dont work to hard now. You take care and God Bless you both:angel:

Thank you so much for the kind words. I remember when i first joined this board I was scared out of my mind. No one seemed to understand what I was going thru. My family life was heck and so was work. This board helped me to get everything mentally straight so I knew what to do. You have also been an inspiration to me and have helped me out alot.

My new boss won't transition over until sometime next month and yes the old one even though see can be a likeable person is sometimes hard to talk to. She was here in town the day I had my surgery she did send flowers but that was it. She never followed up later to see how I was and quite honestly it kinda hurt. I am excited for a new beginning. I got rid of my troublemaker and now will be in the process of hiring a new asst mgr. I already have one in mind. But then I still have to hire another associate. Hiring is so time consuming but fun.

Hi there!! Wanted to let you know that if you don't hear from me alot today. I am having a bad day. Last night when I was in the jacuzzi, a blast of water hit me in my back and sent my pain soaring. Today I have the back pain and a terrible headache that kinda feels like a migraine.

Take care and know that you are in my prayers and thoughts.

Sorry to hear you've a migraine on top of your increased pain. can you get tiger balm in the US? Its my miracle cure for migraines ...just rub a tiny bit on your temples or your forehead (not too close to the eyes though) and go to bed for an hour...

I am sorry that you are again experiencing the terrible pain. Take your meds and rest. Hopefully the headache will also ease. If this does not you might want to call the Dr it could all be connected somehow.

Good luck my prayers are with you
