Hi my name is Melanie,
I am 24 years old and have been diagnosed since '02 with PCOS. Since November my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant with no luck. I am now finished with my 2nd round of Clomid. I am beginning to get discouraged. I have read a lot here that it took the 3rd Clomid round before some have gotten pregnant. But my problem is that I have been using ovulation prediction tests and I'm not even ovulating. Is there any hope left for me??

Hi melanie, i am sorry to hear of your troubles. Im not sure what dosage of clomid you are on but they normally increase the dosage if it dosent work. Dont be disheartened, i know it must feel like youve been waiting forever but you need to give the clomid a chance to work. It is sometimes hard when you expevt clomid to be a miracle drug, but the truth is everyones body is different and so it might take yours a little while longer.
Can i ask is there anything else you have tried??

Hi! Have you taken Metformin with your clomid? Clomid did nothing for me, but I fell pregnant in 5 weeks of Metformin alone with my first baby, and with my second baby, I was pg the first month I TTC.
You need to be careful of clomid because if you take it too long it begins to act as a form of birth control. You have not been on it long enough for that to happen yet, just be careful that you dont take it TOO long. Have you talked to your DR about upping your dose?
I remember being where you are, and its so frustrating. But dont grow weary, Hun. Good Luck to you!

Are you using the ovulation predictors while on clomid? I've read several places that being on clomid won't give you an accurate reading on the predictors.

I have been put up to 100mg on Clomid and I am on 1500mg of metformin. I have been using ovulation predictor tests, but they only have been showing that I am NOT ovulating. So I really don't know what else to do. I am going to go back to my doctor within the next two weeks and talk to him once again before I take the last dose of Clomid which will be 150mg.

Thank you all for replying to my post is it very helpful. :)

Hi Melanie,

We sound like twins! LOL but seriously, if you read my 2 posts on here, you will see what i mean. I too was on clomid back in 2003, and never once ovulated, then got discouraged and thougtht it would happen on its own. of course it did not. so here i am today, i have the classic symptoms of pcos, and now i am going to finally go to a new gyno may23. I wish you the best and my prayers are with you!
