I'm not sure what to do. I had a bad night last night. For the past couple of wks I've been taking a Mega Multi, whch has added B vitamin complex (80 mg ) and vitamins and minerals at and above the rda, and also fish oil capsules, 2 a day. Last night I had heart palps, racing heart, stomach upset, anxiety, and loose stool. I still have a little this monring, and leg pain. But I'm not sure which one is the culprit, the Multi or fish oil, and what or if I should take either today. Does anyone have any idea about this ??

It is most likely that your body is simply fighting a virus. If these products were actually causing these symptoms, it is most likely that the symptoms would have appeared in the first week that you took them.

I stopped taking them both, and feel better. I feel it is the high b vitamins and also fish oil that is causing my problems, I'm very sensitive. So I'm just taking a simple multi, not too much, and more balanced, will get my omega from salmon when I can.

cvor,
did you know that flax seed contains Omega3 fatty acids, similar to those of salmon? It lowers cholesterol and triglycerides, blood pressure, and is a source of antioxidants and fibre. A lot of people sprinkle it on their morning oatmeal or cereal, and use it in baking. It must be ground- never use whole seeds! You hardly taste it in your food - it adds a bit of a nutty taste. It can be purchased already ground or you can do it yourself - use a coffee grinder. Must be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months. It's inexpensive. Another natural way to get those great Omega3's!
(just in case you get sick of eating salmon)

I've been using Flax Seeds in oatmeal for about a month. I didn't know the seeds had to be ground. I have a coffee grinder and will grind the seeds. Why must they be ground? I'm so curious. In the future, I'll look for ground flax seeds. Thanks for posting.

I never thought about trying Flax seed, but will give it a try. I like being able to sprinkle on oatmeal or other foods, and will still be getting all the health benefits. I will look for it, Thank you for the info....

Guys, :)
The flax seed must be ground, as I mentioned. Whole seed cannot be digested and passes through the digestive tract without doing anything for you.
I forgot to mention the nuts, especially walnuts. Nuts, anyone? Excellent sources of Omega 3 fatty acids (similar to those in fish). I buy unsalted mixed nuts by the kilogram and eat a handful every day. It means extra calories from fat, but hey, so what! I walk and exercise and eat less meat.
You are by no means limited to eating salmon to get your Omega 3's from natural (dietary) sources.
There are other dietary sources of similar Omega fats, just as good for you as the above: broccoli, beans, green leafy veggies and dairy products.

I just purchased whole ground flaxseed. Thanks for the information. I include each morning in the oatmeal flaxseed, wheat germ, chopped walnuts, bee pollen, blueberries and a combo organic Almond/Soy Milk or Oatmilk. Occasionally, I mix in organic Cinnamon Apple Sauce.
