Has anyone quit smoking and found that their migraines were helped? Pain management doctor swears migraines will stop if I just stop smoking but I don't believe it. I'm not a heavy smoker, only about 3/4 of a pack a day but I really hate to quit as I'm still trying to lose 35 pounds that I put on due to taking Depakote for 2 years!

Hi, while trying most options for headache treatment I often thought my smoking might be causing/contributing (I was also smoking about 3/4 pack per day). I asked two migraine specialists about this and they both said that it was VERY unlikely that smoking would have anything to do with it. Nonetheless I thought I would feel outreagiously stupid if, in ten years, i quit and the pain stopped.

So, 3 months ago (after about 8 years of smoking) I quit. I'm really proud of myself for quitting and I certainly feel healthier, but I'm really sorry to have to report that it has made no difference to the headaches.

In my experience ceasing smoking is just another treatment that doesn't work... sorry... but perhaps some relief also;)
