I just started what you could call my "cutting" cycle. I was wondering if creatine would help me lose fat. I've been off of it since starting my cardio, but I've heard it can help your fat loss. Also, is 1000 calories good to shoot for when exercising?

well, from what I know from using creatine is that it helps you to recover quicker and it will make your body retain water. So I'm sure it can't hurt, but I'm not sure if it will actually make you lose fat. As for the 1000 calorie thing, if you're trying to cut down try doubling that, you need calories to burn calories. Or ou can take how many calories you usually consume, knock off 250 and burn another 250 a day. that makes a defecit of 500 cal a day which is just under a pound a week.

Oh I should have clarified. I try to BURN 1000 calories a workout. Some say I'm nuts, I honestly don't think it's enough since I keep wanting to do more.

oh ok, heh heh

I say if you wanna do it, DO IT
the best way to learn about exercising is trial and error. but keep in mind that it isn't just exercise that will shred you down, it's also diet

Oh I know that, I really don't count carbs too much, but all I eat mainly is cheerios/crispix, pasta, rice, salad and oatmeal. Occasionally a bad thing here or there, but nothing much.

yeah,
another good thing to do would be to keep your excellent diet for six outta seven days of the week and then eat whatever you want on the seventh day. It can help to keep your metabolism high and will increase your drive to go to the gym since you feel so crappy for binging. Don't worry, it won't make you put on any weight I've done it for years, even during my competitive season.
Other than that your set man. good luck

creatine isn't going to do much as far as weight loss. It's going to add water weight to you and make you look more bloated. Sure, you'll recover faster and be a little stronger but how much is that really going to help you "cut" if you're retaining water. Creatine is some great stuff but it's not for people that are trying to cut.
