Hi everyone. I hope you all are doing good. I had my first tx and it was a awful experence. Freezing and can not get warm throwing up too. I did not get any rest. Glad this is my vacation week. I still do not know how to work this program. So if you do not get a reply from me it is mostly because I did something wrong on here. I forgot to tell you I'm geo 1 and in stage 1. Blu

Good luck honey. I know everyone is different but for my husband and myself the first few shots did that and then we hardly felt anything from them. We both did feel very tired all the time. I just finished my last shot last saturday night and my last pill monday morning. I do not feel as tired at all already and my body does not ache as much, however I still am having some aches. So lets see it has been....eight days off of tx. I also stopped taking my pain pills sunday and it is now weds. I only felt yucky from that for one day but still feel a little wierd. Yesterday was a great day actually. I have been working a lot lately with spring being here so I don't know if my body hurts from being out of shape or still a little from the meds. I know it is not that bad. Good luck honey. The treatments for me started out good and snuck up on me gradually feeling emotionally crazy..body aches that were more annoying than anything else, and a lot of fatigue. Luckily I was home during the day and able to take naps with my son and snooze a lot on the couch while he played. Good luck. It is one of those things that you just have to get it over with.

I think I might have been experiencing a little with drawl from xanax. I did not take them every day but for the last two or three weeks I took them almost every day and even more when I quit my pain meds. Who knows anymore what is from what.

Hi Charmed, Hope all is going good for you today. I am a geo 1 and stage 1. I don't know what a gen means. I'm not one for taking meds or vitamins. I never have been. All I take for now is what I am given for my treatment and Aleive, and dramamine. I am in good health except for this HepC.
The new experimental drug called SCH 503034 along with standard therapy get a better response rate and possibly in a shorter amount of time. There are different types of Hepatitis C virus (HCV). The most common kinds are called the genotypes 1 through 6. This study will enroll only patients with HCV genotype 1 who have not previously received treatment.
Pegylated interferon (such as Pegintron) and Ribavirin (such as Revetol) are the current standard treatments for patients with chronic hepatitis C. However, only around 50 percent of patients with HCV genotype 1 will respond to standard therapy. The purpose of this study is to see if patients infected with HCV genotype 1 who receive a new experimental drug called SCH 503034, is a protease inhibitor which works differently than PegIntron and Rebetol. SCH 503034 interferes with the ability of the hepatitis C virus to release new active virus particles into the bloodstream.
This study will compare the response rate of SCH 503034 taken with PegIntron and Rebetol for 28 or 48 weeks to the current standard treatment which is PegIntron with Rebetol for 48 weeks.
This study will see if the response rate is better if PegIntron and Rebetol are given for 4 weeks followed by 24 or 44 weeks of PegIntron, Rebetol and SCH 503034.
This study will compare the safety of SCH 503034 taaken with PigIntron and Rebetol to the safety of a standard treatment (PegIntron and Rebetol).
I hope you can understand what I copied from my paper work about the SCH 503034. This study is currently recruiting patients.. verified by Shering-Plough April 2007. Any one can go to ClinicalTrials.gov if you would like any more information on trails being done in your state. Blu

Gen type is like the strain you have. There are I think six but only the first three are found here in the us. Good luck with everything. That is interesting the new treatments.
