Hello
Wasnt sure who to ask, so hopefully someone may be able to help me.
I am 18. the problem is that when i talk my throat sounds really rusty and gushy. and alot of people have notice a big difference. my aunty and cousin came round last night and they ntoice it really bad and asked why it sounds like it.
I dont no why, at first i thought it was because my throat might be dry so i have been drinking alot of water.but it hasnt made no difference. it has now been like this for weeks.
My aunt asked if i had, had a cold or sore throat and i said no, it just came on and has been like it ever since. my aunt said it sounds as if its coming from my chest. and that i should go and get it checked out as theres no reason for it to start.
Can anyone help me at all?

A hoarse sounding voice can be a sign of a Thyroid disorder.

DO you have a lot of drainage? You know, running down the back of your throat? If so, that could be causing your hoarsness.

The Thyroid gland is located in the throat region. You could see an Endocrinologist to have a Thyroid panel done (blood work). It is not uncommon for women to have an underactive thyroid. Some other signs might be if your skin is dry, you tend to gain weight, have fatigue.
