I have been playing high level softball for many years. (I played on the varsity team through 2 years of college before I got hurt... = ( ) And even when I was working out with our strength coach I was not getting defined lower abs. I was doing cardio and lifting regularly with him and my upper abs and obliques were looking nice, but that little pouch right on fop of/under my belly button, just won't seem to budge. Now that I'm done playing I'm not worried about gaining muscle really, just staying definded so I have a lot more time to focus on getting this lower ab region to work for me. If anyone has some ab exercises (upper and obliques too!! ) that would be a great help. And if you have any good diet tips that would be great too!! Thanks!!

not alot of carbs, those go to my gut str8 away. i find not eating alot and doing alot of abs gets my stomach defined but i like eating alot!
also i find the best way to rest the upper and tone the lower is do half a situp, it gets that bit just in from your hip bone. (sorry my biology is terrible!)

Hi ,
Sounds like the place where you store fat is your tum and you need a good diet , clean carbs and good quality protein plus aerobic work out to get rid of that little layer ,or pooch as you call it.
The muscles in the stomach are layered on top of each other ,you work one you work them all .
If you want to give your core muscles a really good work out the best exercises in my opinion by far are Pilates, plus you get the bonus of a long lean flexible body to boot !
Good luck , Miri
