View Full Version : Urine splashed in eye! - Any precautions to take?

This has never happened to me before.
Yesterday morning at close range while pullings my toddler's
urine soaked pull-up off somehow a couple of drops of urine
from the pullup splashed into the inner corner of 1 eye.

I was late for work - just about to walk out the door and only
took a dry washcloth and wiped the outer area of that eye.

Tonight I bought some eye wash and will rinse that eye completely.
Beyond that should I be concerned? Could a couple of drops of
my childs urine cause any short-term or long-termdamage to my eye
(i.e. infection or anything else)?

Should I see an eye doctor or am I over reacting?
Have only noticed today a little bit of itching one time - it
looks normal in the mirror.

Any information is appreciated!!

I've always understood that urine is sterile so I would think that it would not cause any harm to your eye.
Have you ever heard of "urine therapy". It's kinda crazy well not kinda it is crazy. People actually drink their urine or the urine from their babies. They bath in it too. It's an alternative therapy. Suppose to help against the flu, sleepiness, fighting cancer, infertility, baldness, depression, cold sores, tuberculosis, tetanus, foot fungus, gonorrhea etc etc. It's crazy I tell ya and it's one herbal remedy that I am not about to try!:dizzy:

I know an alternative therapist who does that. Absolutely gross.
Texas242: I wouldn't worry.
