this docter is outstanding caring and cononcerned and very thorough.there were so many medical questions my head is still spinning. stated dr wong did a very thoroughh and good job detecting and testing, also said he agreed with dx of ms and chossing copaxone was the way to go.
(told us to use a warm compress before injection)
answered all question and concerns on ms that was asked of course i forgot a few questions. unlike last nuero did not blow anythinf off as not imporatant. blood pressure was thru the roof 194/77. discussed cooling vest she works as a cokk in kitchen, they also are writing her work a letter on needing to fix the ac because of herms. free pain med samples shes been getting migraines above the left eye and when she covers eye with hand pain goes away and it comes back when she moves hand again. talking about a c-spine mri what is this and how is this related?
he also said not to worry about ms cause its not what it was 10 years ago. im confussed dont worry?
told to take omega 3 this helps decrease inflamation in the brain and improves transmission of impulse in the brain, and it also shows redution on severity and frequency of relapses.
they spent over 2 hours on visit very pleased will we be back HELL YA.

Walleye, that's great! It's so important to feel well cared for and it sounds like the doc really spent time answering questions and giving you info. Re: MRI of the spinal column, there can be lesions there as well and from what I understand it's part of the puzzle (my neurologist just ordered one for me and a more thorough one of the brain).

I also love that he volunteered info. about Omegas and explained (and knew) WHY they're important! I'm taking fish oil, primrose oil and flaxseed oil as well as some other things that I mentioned in the "natural" topic down below. You might want to ask him about what dose -- at least right now I'm doubling the recommendations for each of these, at least until I'm feeling less symptomatic.

When he said not to worry, he was probably referring to how far they've come in the past 10 years about managing this disease -- they know so much more about it now and from drugs to homeopathy, so much more treatment and info. is available.

thank you thats what i thought but it still concerned me cause ther is no cure everthing seems to slow down the progression. dont get me rong thats cool but a cure would be oustanding. o i forgot he said something about fibro--- cant think of ecxact name.

At least from what I've read it seems that although they know what occurs in MS they don't know exactly what causes it, at least not just one thing. Agree that a cure would be outstanding but it at least seems like knowing causation would be a key. I'm sure others more familiar than a newbie like myself will have more insight on this!

Re: Fibromyalgia, I believe it's a condition or disease where there's pain in the muscles (unlike arthritis where it's in the joints). Don't know of any specific connection to MS but I'm sure you'll be able to find lots of info. about it on the web.

Walleye, c57s53 is talking about Fibromyalgia in the "Head Numbness" thread -- no doubt she'll be able to provide some insight!

Walleye, it is nice to know that others understand symtoms, but do not be fooled. NO TWO cases of MS are alike, ever....MS is like a fingerprint and although you may read things which your wife says she feels- it might not be the same; therefore, its really important that although its good to know you (and she) are not alone, her treatment should be individualized. I have been reading alot of your posts- and you ask good questions, however you can get caught up in both self diagnosis and self treatment by reading too far into other people's dilemmas..does that make sense?

May I ask you why your wife doesnt post on here? I would really like to hear from her what her feelings are. We encourage family members to be involved, and its great that you are; but I cant find any messages from your wife describing her fears/ symtoms or issues...only you posting for her...we are here for her and would love to hear from her.

Yes it does make sense. im doing this at work we have no computer at home or one that she can use, im trying to get one for home use but money's the issue ther and the wifey says no so im just trying to relay her fears and symptoms. hopefully we will get enough time to maybe use a computer at the library so she can post, but umtil then i will relay her thoughts and fears i print all replies and take them home for her to read.

your answer makes sense too! Check your local library for "old computers" and sometimes the township and schools give away computers which are "outdated" when they upgrade them. I managed to get a computer at home for my stepkids to use that way. IT cost me nothing!
Im sorry to hear about your wife...let her know she is in our prayers and she is not alone.

Hi Walleye,

I'm glad to hear you and your wife had such a good experience with Dr. Khatri, would you mind telling me what part of WI you're in? I've been considering looking for a new neuro, I haven't been too satisfied with mine....:)
