I haven't really worked out in a while but I am naturally thin. I just want to build muscle and tone up. My question is I started an at home daily routine with hand weights and ankle weights. The first day I worked out a decent amount of time my muscles were sore the next morning. Since then though they are not as sore. Is the soreness supposed to go away yet keep building and toneing the muscle? or if I am not getting any soreness that am I not working the muscles hard enough? I drink lots of water so does that make a difference? Thanx

As your body becomes used to the exercise, the soreness in your muscles should alleviate somewhat. You may of course still be sore after an extra strenuous workout, but in general the better shape you are in, the less sore you will be after a workout.

Hi there ,
If you actually want to build muscle you have to increase the load ( weight that you are using ) and work in sets . It is normal to feel sore up to 24 hours later ( this is called DOMS delayed onset of muscle soreness ) . That is why it is recomended to work on alternative days . If you are working with light weights and a long time every day you are most likely burning more calories causing you to get thinner ,as opposed to building muscle -gaining weight .
