DS is 5 months old and caught a cold last week, this is his first time. He weighs less than 14lbs and is bottle fed (formula). He refuses to drink much and is hardly drinking 20 oz a day. He is not yet onn solids. I feel miserable already abt him dropping from 25th to 10th percentile last month. Now with this cold he will drop further is my fear.
Any ideas or suggestions?

How are his diapers? Is he urinating the same? Slightly less? Barely any?

He is urinating fine; he is fine. I am worried because he is drinking less than ususal which I guess could be due to cold.

I would talk to your doc, but my suggestion is to give him a drop of saline in his nose if he is stuffy. This will make it easier for him to breathe while eating. The stuffy nose may be making it scary for him to eat. Also, you should take him for an ear check. One of the first signs of an ear infection is an infants lack of bottle sucking/drinking. This was always the case with my DD too. Don't feel bad about percentiles. My DD was born at 18 1/4 inches long. We were told they thought she had dwarfism. We went to specialists and all until she was 17 months, and she is perfectly normal, just short. DON'T let percentiles bug you. He will adjust himself out when he is a toddler to his genetic size. My DD is still in the 25-50%, but stays there consistently now. She fluctuated a lot in her first year from the 5-50 and down again. Good luck. I am just assuming that he is stuffy and needs to breathe to suck properly. :)
