Hello, I'm new at this so please bear with me. I am HIV pos for 7 yrs now. I am in a relationship with a wonderful man, he knows everything about me. My doctor told me my counts were beautiful and I am considered undetectable. I know that doesn't mean that I dont still have the disease, but my question is, should me and my fiance decide to try for a baby, what are the chances of him contracting the disease during the time we are trying to conceive? I would appreciate any comments. Thank you for listening:wave:

hello, marilyn!
the chances of you passing it on are said to be around 500 to 1 or higher
that doesn't mean it can't happen (it did to me that way)
from what i have been told most conceptions by hiv pos people are done artifically so there is no risk, have you thought about doing it that way? as it is alot safer to your partner. there has been success stories of keeping the baby negative from pos parents. i hope you explore and research as much as you can before you decide to do this. good luck to you

Thank you very much! I will consider your suggestion. We always practice safe sex, and we are not sure yet if we even want a baby, but I needed to know the chances he would be taking, I was infected by my ex-husband and I have no intentions of ever putting anyone through what I have been through. Thanks again, you took a load off my mind :)

i prefer the no chance ways myself,no need to put anyone at risk when there are ways you can avoid it. if you do make up your mind, make sure you think it out and research it really well before acting so you have the best chance of your partner and baby being or staying negative and healthy.
